Sooooo....I've been here for almost a full month and time has just flown by! My riding has improved dramatically and Storm is making leaps and bounds in her training. She loves the work and is so willing to please :) The weather here for the past week has been less then desirable...rainy, windy, and by South Carolina terms downright chilly! I think Storm thinks we moved back to Illinois! I got to attend a few more cross country schoolings in which Hugo discovered how much fun it is to play in the water complexes lol. He has quickly become a true barn dog. I miss everyone at home so much but the amount of education and hands on experience down here can't be beat! Got to spend the day with my brother, sister in law, and nephew today which was awesome! You don't realize how much it means to have family close by until you don't. I got to experience one of Aiken's most popular annual festivals...Lobster Races. Very interesting experience to say the least! I had a great time though and got to meet some more fellow eventers in the area. It still blows my mind how many horse people are down here. You never feel out of place in a pair of breeches and riding boots :) Anyway, that is all for today.

So it's been a little over a week since I made my way down to sunny South Carolina and I have to say I am in Heaven! Storm is adjusting very well...she loves being outside 24/7. She is slowly starting to get back in shape and she loves to work! She's starting to build up her back muscles and is learning to except steady contact with the bit. She seems to really love Dressage. The trainer here is amazing and is very patient and easy going with her...She already looks like a different horse! I have also been getting my butt kicked! I ride anywhere from 2-5 horses a day and am given the opportunity to join in on lessons, shows, and cross country schooling. I've learned so much this past week and cannot wait to learn even more :). I added a new family member this week. His name is Hugo. He is a 5 month old lab/shepard mix and he is amazing! Storm loves him and he loves life on the farm! Can't wait to see what I will learn next week!
